All three options provide a complete light-proof solution, using a fully tracked pelmet and side channel system.

Your choice is a simple decision between aesthetics (the final look) and function (clearing any window obstructions).

Inside Mount โ€“ Forward Roll

  • What it is: The tracks and pelmet are mounted at the front of the window recess, sitting flush with the wall.
  • Choose this if: You need to clear obstructions inside the recess, such as window winders or large handles. This position provides the necessary space behind the blind for them to operate. Aesthetically, it provides a very clean, flush finish with the surrounding wall.

Inside Mount โ€“ Rear Roll

  • What it is: The tracks and pelmet are mounted deep inside the window recess, close to the window glass.
  • Choose this if: You have a clear recess with no obstructions (like handles). This style creates a clean, built-in appearance and leaves your internal windowsill space free.

Outside Mount

  • What it is: The entire system is mounted on the wall or architrave around the window opening.
  • Choose this if: Your window recess is too shallow for either inside mount, or you have large obstructions that even a Forward Roll cannot clear. This provides the same blockout by covering the entire frame.
