HOW IT WORKS
Most blackout blinds stop light coming through the fabric, but they let it in around the edges. That’s why a room with ordinary blockout blinds still has a glow. To block out that light, you have to close the gaps.

MANUAL OR MOTORISED
Both are blackout blinds with the same side tracks, headbox and fabric. The only difference is how you raise and lower them.
Manual: Spring-operated, with no chains or cords. Raise and lower it by hand and it holds at any height. Available from 300mm wide (400mm wide for drops under 800mm). Read more about our Manual Option.
Motorised: A quiet motor you control with a remote. The rechargeable battery lasts an estimated six months per charge (based on one up and down cycle a day on a blind about 2.4m by 2.4m). Add the Smart Home Hub to use the app, Google Home or Amazon Alexa. Available from 525mm wide and 400mm high. Read more about our Motorised Option.
Every blind is made to your exact measurements. Measure the width and drop in millimetres, using the handy DIY Measuring Guide before placing your order. If you are unsure, our friendly team can guide you through it over the phone.
The largest motorised sizes depend on the width and drop measurements, and larger blinds are motorised only. Enter your size in the price widget to check. If your size isn’t available online, call 1800 482 777 for a custom quote.
Fabric
The foam-backed blockout fabric is available in 12 colours: Bisque, Dark Grey, White, Thundercloud, Shale, Sepia, Pepper, Light Grey, Egg Shell, Blanched, Mist and Angora.
Frame
The headbox and side tracks are available in Monument, Satin White and Satin Black. You can pair any frame colour with any fabric colour.

Screw the headbox and tracks to the frame or architrave, then fit the roll into the headbox. There’s a step-by-step guide for each fit type, with short videos.
Face fit or recess fit? A face fit, mounted on the architrave around the window, generally gives the best light seal. A recess fit sits inside the window opening for a flush look, and we supply expanding foam to seal the gaps around the frame. A recess fit needs 65mm clear at the top and 25mm at the bottom (overroll).

Spring System: The minimum width is 300mm (with a minimum drop of 800mm) or 400mm wide for drops under 800mm.

With normal use, a single charge will deliver an impressive 6 months* of battery life, removing operational interruptions and the need for frequent charging, for “set and forget” convenience.
*The quoted 6-month average battery life for the motor assumes typical usage, which generally involves 1 up-down cycle a day. This estimate is also based on a standard blind size of approximately 2.4 metres by 2.4 metres. To help maintain the motor’s battery health, it’s recommended to charge it at least every six months.

Grateful that Coverlight offers sizes for our window size and we’re happy that it fits like a glove when we installed it. Installation is of low to medium difficulty but definitely requires 2 person since our window is 2m+ in width. Haven’t really tested its insulation properties yet since it’s still early winter but the blockout property definitely works well with out blockout curtains.
