These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your purchase and use of the Coverlight Blind (“Product”) supplied by Cover Up Canvas Products (CUCP) (“Company”, “we”, “our” or “us”). By purchasing, installing, or using the Product, you agree to be bound by these Terms and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Definitions In these terms:
- ‘ACL’ means the Australian Consumer Law.
- ‘Goods’ means the made-to-measure Coverlight Blinds or other products supplied by us.
- ‘Order’ means an order made by you for the supply of Goods which we have accepted.
- ‘You’ means the person or entity ordering the Goods.
- ‘We’, ‘us’, or ‘our’ means Cover Up Canvas Products (CUCP).
2. Product Overview
The Coverlight Blind is a custom, made-to-measure, do-it-yourself (DIY) window covering solution designed to block or reduce external light. It is manufactured to the specific dimensions provided by you and includes blockout materials, installation components (such as adhesive tape, brackets, or similar), and instructions for installation.
3. Eligibility
To purchase this Product, you must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement under Australian law.
4. Installation Disclaimer
- The Coverlight Blind is intended for DIY installation. Installation is at your own risk.
- Please follow the instructions carefully. Improper installation may result in damage or suboptimal performance.
- Use appropriate tools safely and take all necessary safety precautions. If you are not confident in carrying out the installation, we recommend seeking assistance from a suitably skilled or experienced person.
- CUCP is not liable for any damage to property (including but not limited to walls, window frames, glass, or paint) arising from the installation, use, or removal of the Product. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that the installation surface is clean, sound, and suitable for the adhesive components provided. We recommend testing the adhesive on an inconspicuous area first if you are unsure.
4A. Mandatory Child Safety Warning
To avoid the risk of strangulation and entanglement, please ensure that any cords or chains are secured and not accessible to children. All our products that require it are supplied with safety devices and must be installed in accordance with the installation instructions and the mandatory safety standards. For more information, please refer to the ACCC’s guidelines on corded internal window coverings. If your product is cordless, this risk may not apply.
5. Customer Measurements & Order Responsibility
- Your Responsibility: You, the customer, are solely responsible for providing accurate and complete measurements for your order. We will manufacture the Product to the exact dimensions and specifications you provide.
- Measurement Guide: Please follow our online measurement guides carefully. CUCP is not responsible for any inaccuracies in the measurements you provide.
- No Refunds for Incorrect Measurements: As the Product is made-to-measure, we cannot offer refunds, accept returns, or remake products that do not fit due to customer measurement errors. We strongly advise you to double-check all measurements before finalising your order.
6. Australian Consumer Law – Your Rights
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the ACL.
7. Product Description and Variations
We make every effort to ensure the Goods delivered match any sample or description shown to you. However, our fabrics and materials are produced in batches, and minor or immaterial variations in colour, grain, or pattern between a sample and the final Goods may occur. Such variations are not considered defects under our warranty or the ACL.
8. Cancellations, Returns, and Refunds for Made-to-Measure Products
- 24-Hour Cooling-Off Period: You have a strict 24-hour cooling-off period from the time you place your Order to amend or cancel it for a full refund. All requests must be made in writing.
- Cancellation After Cooling-Off Period: As our Goods are custom-made, you cannot cancel your Order once the 24-hour cooling-off period has passed and production has commenced. However, if you contact us to request a cancellation before your Goods have been dispatched, we may be able to halt production. If so, we may, at our sole discretion, offer a refund less any costs already incurred by us in the processing and manufacturing of your Order. This cannot be guaranteed.
- Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products: This policy does not limit your rights under the ACL. If the Goods you receive are faulty, have been damaged in transit, or do not match the specifications of your confirmed Order, please contact us in writing within 14 7 days of delivery. We will provide a full refund, repair, or replacement as required under the ACL and may require photographic evidence to assess the issue.
- Return Process for Faulty Goods: To initiate a claim, please contact us at [email protected] with your order number and a description of the issue. We will guide you through the process.
9. Shipping and Delivery
- We will provide an estimated dispatch date for your order. While we strive to meet these estimates, all dates are indicative only.
- We are not liable for any delays in delivery caused by third-party shipping carriers or any other factors beyond our control.
- Our deliveries include an ‘Authority to Leave’ (ATL) instruction for the courier. By placing an Order, you authorise the courier to leave the Goods at a safe place at your delivery address without a signature. By authorising ATL, you accept full responsibility for the Goods once they are delivered by the courier.
- Risk and title in the Goods pass to you at the time of delivery to the address specified in your order. It is your responsibility to provide a correct and secure delivery address.
10. Warranty
In addition to your rights under the ACL:
- CUCP offers a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty from the date of purchase for defects in materials or workmanship.
- This warranty excludes:
- Damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, neglect, or unauthorised modifications.
- Damage due to environmental conditions such as excess moisture or extreme heat.
- Normal fading caused by prolonged direct UV exposure, which is considered fair wear and tear.
- This product is intended for internal, domestic use only. The warranty is void if the product is used in a commercial application or outdoor setting.
- To make a warranty claim, please contact us at [email protected] with your proof of purchase and relevant photos. If a defect is confirmed, we will, at our discretion, repair or replace the Product in accordance with the ACL.
- You are responsible for the cost of returning the Goods to us for a warranty claim. If the claim is found to be valid, we will cover the cost of sending the repaired or replacement item back to you.
11. Limitation of Liability Subject to the ACL:
- CUCP shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from the use or inability to use the Product.
- Our maximum liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the Product.
12. User Responsibilities
- It is your responsibility to assess the suitability of the Coverlight Blind for your specific window type, surface, and purpose.
- Installation should not interfere with window functionality, safety features, or compliance with building regulations or strata rules.
- Ensure the Product does not block ventilation or emergency access points.
- If you are a tenant, it is your responsibility to obtain any necessary permissions from your landlord or property manager before installing the Product.
13. Intellectual Property
All product designs, branding, installation instructions, and marketing materials are the intellectual property of Cover Up Canvas Products (CUCP). Reproduction, distribution, or modification without express written consent is strictly prohibited.
14. Changes to Terms
CUCP reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be published on our website and apply from the date of publication to future purchases.
15. Offers and Promotions
- Any offer or promotion provided by CUCP is limited to a single use per household or customer.
- Offers and promotions cannot be combined with other discounts unless explicitly stated and are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
- We reserve the right to verify the validity of any promotional claim and to cancel or amend any promotion without notice.
16. Events Beyond Our Control
We will not be liable for any failure to perform, or delay in performing, any of our obligations under this Contract that is caused by an event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, flood, fire, war, strikes, or a pandemic.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and both parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.

19. Coverlight Free Fabric Sample and Refund Offer
1. Offer Eligibility The Coverlight Sample Offer is available to customers purchasing the “12 Blackout Fabric Sample Pack.” The pack itself is free of charge; the $12.00 cost incurred at checkout covers shipping, handling, and logistics.
2. Redemption of Shipping Credit Upon purchase of the sample pack, the customer will receive a unique coupon code equal to the shipping value ($12.00).
- Validity: This code is valid for use on subsequent orders of full-sized Coverlight blinds.
- Minimum Spend: The code is valid on orders excluding accessories or additional services.
- Limitations: Limit of one (1) redemption per customer/transaction. Purchasing multiple sample packs does not grant multiple stackable $12 credits on a single future order.
3. Discount Stacking Unlike standard coupons, the Sample Shipping Credit is stackable with the current Coverlight tiered promotion (Spend & Save up to 20% off). It cannot, however, be used in conjunction with other third-party coupons, affiliate codes, or trade discounts unless explicitly stated.
4. Shipping Policy Sample orders placed before 2:00 PM AEST, Monday through Friday, will be dispatched the same day. Orders placed after this time, or on weekends/public holidays, will be dispatched the next business day. Coverlight is not liable for carrier delays once the item has left our warehouse.
5. Expiry The $12 credit code expires 365 days from the date of issue.
By purchasing or installing the Coverlight Blind, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
